Did Father Christmas bring you a planning consent or a lump of coal?

This time of the year one inevitably takes stock of your achievements though the past 12 months. What have you achieved? What went well? What was a disaster? What do you want to celebrate? What do you need counselling for? What do you want to do differently next year?

Well, at the Community Communications Partnership we want to celebrate with you… and we have a lot to celebrate! We have been crunching the numbers, and this is what we achieved for our clients:

74 applications successfully consented of which 55 went through at Planning Committee and the other 19 achieved a delegated approval (always nice to have such a peaceful application that it just sails through!)

The net result of these consents were:

  • 11,548 new homes approved (both houses and flats)

  • Four solar farms approved

  • Three BESS facilities approved

  • 2.3million sq ft of commercial space approved (Distribution centres, Self-Storage, Employment)

  • Eight supermarkets/convenience stores

  • Three Hotel applications approved

  • 13 major regeneration schemes approved

  • We spoke at 17 Planning Committees

  • Seven sites allocated in Local Plans

  • A site as part of a New Town

  • Two GP surgery approved

  • A dental surgery approved

  • Five new schools approved

  • A motorway junction included in an infrastructure plan

  • 7 “Stop orders” resolved and builders back on site

  • A staggering 219 conditions that was stuck – discharged (at last)

Our team has expanded and we now have more expertise than ever before.

  • We have a Reform UK expert

  • We have one more Green expert

  • We have two more LibDem experts

  • We have two more Labour experts

  • We have two more Conservative experts

  • We have a former Council Chief Exec join us

But one must be honest and assess what went wrong too… our success rate was only 98.7% for the year… 1.3% did fail and they are ones that came too late to us to turn them around and in two cases it was completely inevitable that they would be appeals and we introduced the client to trusted and experienced Barristers at the start to make sure we were best placed for that inevitable appeal. (We’re always honest!)

If you want to join our success statistics for 2026, do not hesitate, get in touch!

Have a wonderful Festive Season!
